The Body Bible

According to studies -yeah let’s skip all of that! Studies this, studies that – Studies say there are only 3 body types: endomorph, ectomorph, and mesomorph. However, we all know there’s about 50 million more. Just look at the different shapes within your circle of friends, or even family. Furthermore, finding your body type may be hard. Finding clothes for your body type may be even more daunting. However, with these tips and tricks, you’ll be looking good and feeling even better!

Step 1: Self-Love and Acceptance.

Before we cover up our bodies, we want to be comfortable with the skin we’re in. Accept the fact that your body is different. Celebrate your curves! That flat tummy you have, celebrate it! How about those long legs that make you look like a young Naomi Campbell? Celebrate them! No matter your body type, you’re beautiful, accept it.

Step 2:  Affirm it!

Once you have accepted your body may be a little different, affirm the beauty that comes with these differences. Some of my favorites include but are not limited to:

“I approve of myself”

“I am worthy of love and Joy”

“My life is a gift”

“I am beautiful”

“I am growing and changing for the better”

“I love the person I am becoming”

Then, of course, my favorite, especially around the holidays when I’ve eaten a full tray of Macaroni & Cheese; “I forgive myself”

I like self- affirmations  before and after getting dressed.

Step 3: Find  your Body Type.

Now it’s time for the fun part, finding your body type. Below we have a description of each body type. Find one that describes what’s closest to you. You might not find one exactly like you because we’re all unique. Yet, there’s one extremely close!

Step 4: Wear your feelings on your sleeve, literally!

Fashion is how I choose to express myself. Whether I’m feeling extremely happy and want to throw a little yellow in my ootd (SB- melanin in yellow-whew Chile!) Or if I’m feeling a little down and want to dress like they did North West the first 3 years of her life. I could even change my mood through what I wear. Sometimes slipping on that little red dress may help to boost your confidence.. even if you do have a little tummy.

Step 5: Be You!

Wear what is comfortable. Don’t try and be someone you’re not, just to fit in.

Your Body, Your Choice.
